Professional Development Seminar
Gas Detection and Monitoring
Interpreting and Complying with AS/NZS 2290.3:2018
Our newly designed Gas Detection and Monitoring seminar has been especially developed to provide key stakeholders in the coal mining sector with a deep review of the new edition of the AS/NZS 2290.3:2018 Standard along with discussion on Amendment 1.
The seminar will help participants with interpreting and complying with the Standard, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of requirements and recommendations for the inspection and maintenance of gas detection equipment.
Presented by Ian Webster
Ian Webster is one of Australia’s leading technical experts in the design, performance and maintenance of gas detectors for use in coal mines.
He has provided significant input into the development of national and international standards for gas detection in mines, and has presented invited papers on the subject at leading industry conferences, including:
Queensland Mines Health and Safety Conference
Electrical Engineering Safety Seminar (EESS, NSW)
Mines Electrical Safety Seminar (MESC, Qld)
Mine Managers Association of Australia (MMAA)
Underground EEMs Seminars, Qld and NSW
Ventilation Officers Seminar, Qld
Ian is Chief Researcher for an ACARP project looking into dust accumulation in gas detectors and the effect this has on detector performance.
The seminar will comprehensively cover:
